Our next meeting will be April 14, 2010 @ 7:15 p.m. in the Georgian International Room in The Barrie Public Library on Worsley Street.

INTEREST GROUPSBowling
This group meets at Bowlerama in Bayfield Mall for 5 pin bowling. Bowling begins at about 6:50 p.m. and we will bowl from 7-9 p.m. The cost is $10.00 which includes shoe rental. This group meets on the 3rd Monday of the month. Dates booked so far, are February 15th, March 15th, and April 19th.
Scrabble
Scrabble meets on the first Monday of the month at 1:00p.m. The next play date is April 5th.
Walking/Hiking Club
This group meets every Thursday morning. The pace is medium-fast and the terrain is varied. Hikes may vary from 1 1/2 hours to 4 hours plus travel time. Input from members is valued. A beverage or lunch break is usually arranged for more group socializing. This is a great way to meet and make new friends while having fun. For the early part of January, snowshoeing is being consider. For the remainder of January, will probably do a Georgian Mall Walk.
Mall Walk
Beginning January 2010, this group will meet on Tuesday mornings at 8:30 a.m. at the Georgian Mall. Anyone who is interested in a pleasant 45 minute walk.
Euchre
The group meets the 2nd Monday of each month at 1 p.m. The next game will be March 8th, followed April 12th.
Fun Lunch
This group gets together on the second Thursday of each month at 12 noon for a pot-luck lunch in a host home. Lunch is followed by an afternoon of lively chat – a great way to get to know people. Next Fun Lunches are scheduled for March 11th and April 8th. Due to the increased size of our membership and the capacity of each hostess we may have to limit the numbers on a “first call basis”. PLEASE BE KIND ENOUGH TO NOTIFY THE HOSTESS A FEW DAYS AHEAD, IF YOU CANNOT MAKE THE POT LUCK LUNCH, AS YOUR CONTRIBUTION IS RELIED UPON.
Book Club
If you like to read and enjoy sharing your opinions and hearing those of others, you should join us for a lively evening. We meet on the last Monday of each month at 7:30 p.m. in member's houses, where we discuss selections suggested by the group. This is a very relaxed format and a social evening as well. Next meeting is March 29th and the book will be “Modus Operandi 9/11” by Hal Sissons and the April 26th meeting is with the book “Still Alice” by Lisa Genova.
Restaurant Lunch
The group meets at various restaurants the first Thursday of each month at 12:30. The February 4th lunch will be at the Rotary Room, McLaren Art Centre. Restaurant lunch for March 4th is the Mandarin on Fairview Ave at Little Ave. Please note - the April 1st restaurant lunch is cancelled due to Easter Celebrations beginning the next day on Good Friday.

This is a new interest group which will meet monthly at 1:00p.m. The next game will take place on March 17th, followed by April 12th.
Mah Jongg
The next game will be on March 9th at 1:00 pm. Future dates are April 13th, May 11th and June 8th.
Stitch ‘n Bitch
The first meeting of the New Year will meet on the 3rd Monday of the month from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
NOTE: Sign up sheets for the above activities will be at the monthly meetings. We are always looking to start a new activity group and if you have a particular interest please let Win know and we can see if there are any other members who would be interested also.
